We serve Taos and northern New Mexico. We have helped over 3.2K clients and their families access college and vocational training.

Each year we see approximately
$100K in regional and local scholarships awarded to Bridges clients and upwards of $200-400K in institutional aid from their respective colleges and vocational programs.

Our clients
hail from all walks of life. From ages 13 to 82 with dreams of becoming diesel mechanics and doctors.

    What most inspires you about the Bridges mission: As both a Taos High and Bridges alum, I have experienced the power of Bridges’ individualized counseling and support first-hand. Bridges opened up so many doors for me and I am honored to work with Bridges to support our community in pursuing post-secondary education.

    What most inspires you about the Bridges mission: We understand the process can be overwhelming for many families and students. Bridges recognizes and understands each individual’s situation, so we have built a staff and foundation to support and assist in these transitions. Students have opportunities presented through Bridges that they never thought were possible, which gives them hope and gratitude for their futures.

    One of my greatest honors is witnessing these young students leave to have life-changing experiences and then come home to Taos to be a vital part of our community!

    What most inspires you about the Bridges mission: I love that Bridges makes higher education accessible. I needed an organization like this when I was graduating from high school.

    Positions held in the community: Educator Anansi Charter School, Board Member Taos Charter School and Anansi Charter School, Volunteer in my kids classrooms (when they were in school), Twirl, The Paseo, Taos Men’s Shelter, voter registration and precinct on election days, parent of three Taos High School graduates.

    What most inspires you about the Bridges mission: Support for higher education as a vehicle for proactive citizenship and personal growth

    What most inspires you about the Bridges mission: I am compelled by a responsibility to do whatever I can to hold the doors of opportunity open for others — just the same as was done for me!
