The 2019 Curtis Scholarship Program, funded through Global Citizen Ambassador and Vitalogy Foundation, opened on March 15. This is an “annual leadership development program to support youth ages 16-20 from underserved communities in the U.S. who embody the values of global citizenship.” Curtis Scholars will travel to South Africa for a ten-day learning trip and will participate in an advocacy trip to Global Citizen Week Events in New York, NY.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Ages 16-20 (by time of application)
- A U.S. Citizen
- Have experienced limited past overseas travel
- Family household income of under $85,000 USD
- Minority and underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
The application consists of submission of two 2-3 minute videos or 500-700 word written responses to two essay questions; two short answer questions, up to 250 words each; and a letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor, school administrator, community leader or colleague.
